The designation S3/6 is still familiar to every railway fan today. It stands not only for the axle sequence 2'C'1 "Pacific", but also for the legendary steam locomotive: Bavarian S3/6.

The express steam locomotive was built a total of 159 times by Maffei in Munich-Allach between 1908 and 1931. The S3/6 is a larger further development of the Baden IVf also built by Maffei. The Bavarian Stars were delivered in 15 series (a-o). Except for the series d and e, which had a driving wheel diameter of 2,000mm, the S3/6 had a driving wheel diameter of 1,870mm. This had a favourable effect on the driving behaviour, so that the machine could be used both in the lowlands and in the mountains. The maximum speed was 120km/h regardless of the wheel diameter. The series a-i, with the exception of the series d-e, had a so-called wind cutting cab, all locomotives of the series a-i were procured by the Royal Bavarian State Railway. The last series k-o were finally ordered by the newly founded Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft.

The Bavarian S3/6s are famous for their service in front of the FFD Rheingold and the Orient Express, they also carried the East End Vienna Express, Alpen-Nordsee-Express and the Paris-Prague Express.

They confidently completed long-distance journeys of 820 kilometres without exhausting themselves, e.g. from Hamburg and Munich.

Since the engine was implemented as realistically as possible, the model requires a minimum radius of R56. The model can be motorised with an L- and traction motor, battery box and receiver find their place in the tender as usual.

In addition, a steam module can be installed, which you can purchase here: www.joooooy.com
