The locomotives of the 243 and 212 series implement a universal concept of an electric locomotive of the Deutsche Reichsbahn, which was confirmed with the 212 001 test locomotive and whose area of use was in all train operation areas. Since 1992, these locomotives have been known as the 143 and 112 series, respectively.
This locomotive represents the BR 143 in Bordeaux with light gray running gear.
