From 1900 onwards, the volume of freight handled at large marshalling yards became too large for the shunting locomotives of the time. Due to this fact, the Prussian State Railroad was forced to acquire new locomotives, the locomotive of choice being the Prussian T13, later to become the 92.5 series. These locomotives proved themselves, and a total of 656 units were built. They had an indicated power of 500 psi and could run at speeds of up to 45 km/h. They were retired until 1968. They were decommissioned until 1968.
