The locomotives, designated 99.23-24 before 1970, originated from the DR's new construction programme between 1954 and 1957. The total of 17 machines were procured for the Harzquer and Brocken Railway as well as for the Eisfeld-Schönbrunn narrow gauge network.
Today, 8 locomotives are still operational and some of them are in daily scheduled service.
In order to remain operational in the future, 10 locomotives were fitted with new frames and new welded cylinders between 2004 and 2010.
The model can be equipped with the Powered Up System and M-Motor.
The minimum driving radius is R36 narrow gauge, available from TrixBrix.eu – Lego compatible train tracks.
