Vectron DE is the diesel locomotive type in the product family. In contrast to the purely electric variants, the locomotives have two side aisles, are about one meter longer than the electric locomotives and the wheel diameters and bogie axle stands are somewhat smaller. The engine room is divided into three chambers: the electrical chamber with, among other things, the converter block behind cab 1, the central diesel engine chamber, and the third chamber with the diesel engine cooler, braking resistor, and train protection cabinet.
