The construction of the class 78 was very successful, so from 1912 to 1927 a total of 544 machines were built for Germany and abroad. The locomotives could travel at 100 km/h in both directions due to the symmetrically built running gear. Because of this capability, the tender locomotives were predestined for push-pull service, and the machines were also used in light express and freight service.

The model shows the version with Wagner wind deflectors, 2-light-tip lighting and 2-dome version. The model is powered by an L-engine and should be driven at least on the R72 radius.
