After German reunification, many East German streetcar operators planned to modernize their fleets. In Leipzig, numerous Tatra T4D and B4D trams were extensively modernized starting in 1991. In addition to new technology, they also received a completely renewed interior. For many years, the T4D-M trains characterized the image of the Leipzig tramway. Even today, they are used sporadically in regular service. They were often used as large trains consisting of two railcars and a trailer.
The model consists of a railcar (T4D-M with a short roof agregate box) and a sidecar (B4D-M). The interior is equipped for minifigures. The cars have simple but functional couplers. The bogies are common for R40 curves and switch passages.
