The DB series 181 comprises dual-system locomotives that were procured by the German Federal Railways from 1966 specifically for cross-border traffic to France and Luxembourg. The pre-series was still called the E 310 series when it entered service. After 1968, these four prototypes were classified in the DB series scheme as class 181.0 and 181.1 due to technical differences, before 25 series locomotives were put into service as class 181.2 from 1974.
The locomotive represents the blue version.
It can be equipped with a Powered Up drive or a 9Volt motor.
The minimum radius is R40.
