m-wagons are standard passenger wagons from DB.

They are based on a prototype from the 1950s and are 26.4m long.

A wide variety of designs were created on this platform, the forerunners of which were the centre entry carriages. For express trains, compartment coaches with a continuous side aisle were used. Later, the TEE carriages and then the Eurofima carriages were developed from this type of carriage.

There were variants of this 2nd class wagon with speeds of up to 200 km/h for use in IC trains.
