At the end of the 1950s, the Halle Research and Development Centre for Mechanical Engineering needed a replacement for its old and inefficient brake locomotives. After several years of development and consultation, the choice finally fell on the class 19, formerly the Saxon XX HV. Two of them were extensively reconstructed at RAW Meinigen, including a new boiler, new smokebox, new boiler superstructures with attractive panelling, a standardised driver's cab and standardised tenders. The four-cylinder composite engine, also new and welded, would become a masterpiece.

The reconstructed locomotives (19 015 and 19 022) fully met the expectations, the original faults of the Br 19 were rectified and two very reliable machines suitable for everyday use were dispatched.

Unfortunately, both locomotives would be scrapped, 19 015 was to live on as a museum locomotive, but was nevertheless scrapped in 1977, 022 suffered the same fate in 1975.

The model is drivable from the radius R72. The model can be motorized with two L-motors, one place each is provided in the tender and in the locomotive.
