6x ML wheel blind 27.2mm
4x ML wheel 27.2mm
The first examples of the class 50 were built in 1939. The beginning of World War 2 caused the demand for freight locomotives to rise sharply, so by 1945 3164 Class 50 locomotives had been built. After the war, they remained throughout Europe.
The original boiler was made of steel that was not resistant to ageing, as was usual for some unit locomotives, which is why the DB sometimes used class 52 boilers on its locomotives and the DR procured new-build boilers and reconstructed its Br 50 locomotives.
These so-called "Reko" locomotives were given the road number 50.35, and a total of 208 "Reko 50s" were built. Equipped with the 50E boiler, the modernised locomotives had about 20% more power.
The model is coupled with a T26 coal tender. It is motorised with the help of an L-motor and with the power function system. With the coupling distance shown in the instructions, the model can run on R72 without any problems. To be able to run on smaller radii, the 1×4 lift arm thin between locomotive and tender must be exchanged for a 1×5 lift arm thin (32017).
In addition, a steam module can be installed, which you can purchase here: www.joooooy.com
